Prince's Haunting Last Tweets

Prince’s haunting social media posts, published within a month before his death, have captured worldwide attention.

“I am transformed,” he wrote quite mysteriously on Twitter April 15, leaving one user to reply, “And because of you and your music, so are we.”

“He literally felt himself transcending this plane of existence. He took his true form as God,” another user responded after hearing of his death April 21.

Other posts linked to articles revealing that the 57-year-old singer, whose full name is Prince Rogers Nelson, was writing a memoir of his life called “The Beautiful Ones” to be published in 2017.

"The good people at Random House have made me an offer that I can't refuse," said Prince to a New York City club, Rolling Stone reports. "We're starting right at the beginning from my first memory, and hopefully we can move all the way to the Super Bowl. We just started, we're going as quick as we can, working tirelessly."

"We wanna thank Random House," he later said in mid-song. "Ain't nothing random about this book."

Elsewhere on social media, celebrities and strangers worldwide mourn the loss of Prince. Justin Timberlake had this to say on Facebook:

I'm still in shock as I write this and I feel this overwhelming grief. But, we should all turn away from that and HONOR this musician that changed all of our lives, our perspectives, our feeling, our whole being. From another planet? Probably. Royalty, for sure. Us worthy..? Laughable..

They say don't meet your idols. That they let you down. But, some of my greatest, funniest (yes, he was hilarious), and most prolific encounters and conversations about music came from the moments that I spent with him. It would be silly to say that he has inspired our music... It's beyond that. He's somewhere within every song I've ever written. I am sad, but I will smile when I think of every second that I had the fortune of being in his company. We have lost our greatest living musician. But his music will never die.
