An Oklahoma woman’s reaction to an apartment fire on a local news channel is going viral (video below).
“We ain’t [going to] be in no fire,” Michelle Dobyne told KOTV/News On 6. "Not today."
Dobyne’s positive outlook and humor in the aftermath of a fire on Jan. 10 quickly caught attention online. The reporter's Facebook page video had more than 2 million views within 24 hours of posting.
The mother of three said she noticed her building at the Casa Linda apartment complex in Tulsa was burning, and she got her three children out of there as quickly as possible.
Viewers of Dobyne’s interview were quick to make comparisons to another viral sensation, Sweet Brown, who said in an interview after an apartment fire, “Ain’t nobody got time for that.”
Neighbors of Dobyne also tried to keep a positive outlook on the situation.
“I can’t cook, I can’t eat, I can’t get warm,” Casa Linda resident Edward Robinson said. "But I still got breath."
Property manager David Bryan said the cheerfulness of the residents is nothing new.
“They’re already all taking care of each other, so,” Bryan added, laughing.
Residents of Casa Linda are being given shelter at the Southern Hills Baptist Church until the power and heat come back on at the apartment complex.
