Strange things happen to your body in the absence of gravity. Check out how drastically astronaut Scott Kelly's physique changed after two years in space:

Kelly just returned from a year long trip on the ISS. One of his main goals was to study how the human body responds to long-term spaceflight. Scott has an identical twin brother, Mark Kelly. Scott is now 2 inches taller than Mark. His spine stretched over time due to the lack of gravity. Other physical changes include: brittle bones, weak muscles, puffy face and legs, smaller heart (less blood flow), lack of balance. Kelly will also document his mental and spiritual changes. Further studies of Scott and Mark will show how well humans can adapt to space. Maybe life away from Earth is closer than we thought.
