Two police officers on motorcycles were recently filmed crashing into each other in Torrance, California (video below).
The incident was filmed and posted on YouTube on Aug. 6 by the Onus News Service.
After the two officers collide and end up on the ground, a third motorcycle cop rides over to check on them.
The man taking the video asks the officers if they have been drinking, and if they will participate in a FST -- a field sobriety test.
The videographer recalled the incident to Photography Is Not A Crime via email:
The best part was prior to the incident. When I arrived at the checkpoint all of the motorcycle cops were sitting together, about 5 of them. I was across the street but I heard someone from their direction say "anus news." I looked over at them and they were all laughing and pointing.
Shortly after that two motorcycle cops pulled over the car in the video. I was filming the traffic stop and a 3rd motorcycle cop showed up and pulled up next to me and gave me a death stare. I said hi to him and asked how he was doing but he ignored me and just stared at me.
He is the cop that got knocked over. You can see in the video he stops to stare at me again while I question the driver of the car that got pulled over.
I think karma caught up to them.
While the Torrance Police Department has not issued a statement, the City of Torrance website lists numerous DUI checkpoints and arrests made by police.
On a more serious note, Hawthorne Police Officer Andrew Garton was killed while riding a motorcycle in a funeral procession for Manhattan Beach Police Officer Mark Vasquez in an incident not far from Torrance in May 2011, reported KNBC.
Garton's motorcycle collided with El Segundo Sgt. Rex Fowler's bike, and was then hit by a car.
