Stranger's Act Of Kindness Shocks Mother

A stranger snuck money into a frazzled Utah mother’s grocery bag and captured the hearts of many March 25.

Amy McCoy Bowe explains on Facebook she was stuck in a very long grocery store line when her arms began to tire after holding her restless baby boy for so long.

After 30 minutes of waiting in the line with little movement, the baby fell asleep while Bowe’s arms were increasingly hurting.

“Another lady came up behind me and as the line shifted forward again, she told me to go sit down and rest (obviously, she could tell the child in my arms was wearing on me) and she would wave me down when it was my turn at the counter,” Bowe said on Facebook. “With a loss of words and touched by her utter kindness, I sat down and was able to give my aching arms a rest.”

What’s more, when Bowe returned to the line, three women told her to sit back down to rest more after having already emptied the contents of her cart onto the belt.

Finally, after 45 minutes of waiting, her turn arrived.

“I spoke with the woman that had taken care of my cart, trying desperately to find the words to adequately express my gratitude for her help and kindness,” Bowe said. “I thought a lot about those three women on my way home and their simple good deed. What probably seemed so insignificant to them was an overwhelming blessing to me.”

Yet the ultimate surprise came while she put away her groceries at home.

“When I got home and put away the groceries, I found this unmarked, very much not empty white envelope tucked away in one of the bags. When I opened and saw the generosity of a prefect stranger, I was brought to tears. She will never know how much that meant to me and how much her sweet act of charity brightened my day,” she said.

It’s not the first time something wonderful has happened in a grocery store line, Huffington Post reports.

Georgia woman and Piedmont Cancer Institute employee, Tracy Warshal, 39, paid for a man’s grocery store purchases in December 2015 after he forgot to bring his wallet.

In return, the same man donated $10,000 in her name to the Piedmont Cancer Institute in January 2016.
