Lingerie model and fitness expert Sarah Stage is getting shamed for wearing skinny jeans just a week after giving birth to her son.
In honor of her baby turning one week old on Oct. 30, Stage shared an Instagram photo of herself holding the infant while striking a pose in a form-fitting white top tucked into a pair of high-waisted jeans, reports the Daily Mail.
The 33-year-old Stage gave birth to Logan Alexander via cesarean section on Oct. 16.
"Well, it's been a week since Baby Logan was born and there's been so much on my mind!" she wrote. "We are so happy and baby is doing great! I'm slowly but surely recovering from another C-section! If we aren't at a doctors appointment then I'm usually in bed most of the day because my incision is still healing obviously!"
One Instagram commenter declared it "ridiculous to put jeans on after a c-section."
Another wrote: "omg so fitting bc her last name is stage and it matches her whole instagram lmao."
In response, Stage explained that her jeans help secure the pads she has to wear as a result of the c-section, which typically causes increased blood flow, according to Daily Mail.
"I wear pads the size of [airplane emoji] and jeans/jeggings hold them in place (so kindly stfu if you're going to judge a woman who just gave birth on just her outfit)," she wrote.
According to the National Institutes of Health's website MedLine Plus, almost one in three American women gives birth via c-section, in which the baby is taken out through an incision in the mother's abdomen.
Stage's jeans weren't the only thing attracting negative comments on social media, however.
Some people were upset over a snapshot taken before she left the hospital, criticizing her for having her hair and make-up done for the photo.
"My make-up team consisted of just me being in a hospital bed with a mirror and an extra 10 minutes ... but who cares?" Stage replied. "Why can't we look and feel good whenever we want? Whether ur wearing make up or not ... you're fabulous and it's really no ones business."
During this pregnancy and her previous one, Stage was also critiqued for low weight gain. Some questioned her frequent workouts and diet, which includes smoothies made with protein powder. Stage answered her critics by explaining that her exercise and nutrition were supervised by her doctor and both of her babies were born at healthy weights.
