If you’re looking to get engaged, you may want to pick a better place to pop the question than a McDonald’s drive-thru.
That’s what Michael Joseph learned after he decided to propose to his girlfriend in the same spot where they had their first date, a McDonald’s in Los Angeles.
Michael’s girlfriend of two years, Ann, had "joked for months about how 10 years down the road I would probably propose to her in a chicken nugget box so I thought she would love when I surprised her this way," he wrote in the video description on YouTube.
Michael slipped an engagement ring into a Crispy Chicken Deluxe burger, and Ann wasn’t happy about it. She laughed and said: "You're not serious. You can't do this. This is not what you do." Then she started crying.
"You can’t ask me to marry you in a chicken sandwich,” she said.
Michael filmed the failed proposal and posted the video (below) online.
Though the couple isn’t engaged, they haven’t broken up.
“We agreed to wait longer until it’s time to get engaged,” he wrote.
