Madonna might be worth $800 million, but she's not above sitting in the cheap seats.
On Oct. 31, the music icon was spotted flying economy on Air Portugal from London to Lisbon, the Daily Mail reports. Still, some online users refuse to believe it's her.
An anonymous photographer took a snapshot that captures the scene.
As noted by USA Today, the average business class seat costs almost 10 times that of an economy seat on the same plane.
In addition to creating a space crunch in coach class, the high price of the more spacious business class accounts for the majority of an airline's income on a given flight.
On Madonna's Air Portugal flight, her fellow passengers were likely surprised to see a megastar sitting among them, casually browsing on her cell phone.
The pop star was also dressed like an ordinary person, outfitted in frayed jeans, an over-sized jacket and pink tennis shoes.
She had been visiting London, which is now the hometown of her eldest son, Rocco Ritchie, who lives there with his father, Guy.
Some online users refused to believe it was the pop star, however. One Daily Mail commenter said, "There's no way that's Madge!" Others seemed to agree.
It has been reported that Madonna is now dividing her time between Portugal, the U.S. and the U.K. Earlier this year, her adopted son, David Banda, joined the Benfica youth football academy in Portugal.
She reportedly owns a home in the Portuguese city of Sintra, where other celebrities also reside, including Michael Fassbender, Monica Bellucci, and John Malkovich.
It is believed that she has enrolled David and her younger children -- Mercy, 11, and 5-year-old twins Stella and Estere -- into the city's exclusive French Lycee.
Estere and Stella, who were adopted from Malawi, are her fifth and sixth children, observes IMDb. David was adopted in 2006 and Mercy in 2009, both also from Malawi.
"Madonna is determined to give her kids every opportunity in life and this one is too good to pass up," said a Daily Mail source regarding the elite school. "She and the family will be moving to Portugal in time for the new school year in September."
In the spiritual realm, Madonna is one of the best-known devotees of Kabbalah, notes IMDb. "I've learned from studying Kabbalah that if your happiness is based on people approving of everything you do, you're doomed to fail," she said. "Kabbalah helped me stand up and take responsibility for everything to do with me."
