Lena Dunham Shares Topless Photo On Instagram (Photos)

A topless photo of Lena Dunham dressed as a mermaid is making rounds on social media.

The 30-year-old actress took to Instagram on Christmas Eve to share an unusual holiday picture, Fox News reported.

In the photo, Dunham is seen laying on the beach topless, dressed as mermaid.

"And then she got her holiday wish aka her lifelong wish... we wish you a mermaid Christmas," she wrote as the caption.

This isn't the first time Dunham has shared such a photo on social media.

In October 2015, the actress attended a Planned Parenthood event in Los Angeles, where she auctioned the sweater off her own back, Breitbart reported. She then took a selfie of herself in her bra and shared it on Instagram.

“The @plannedparenthood event in LA tonight was so crazy inspiring,” Dunham wrote. “I also spontaneously auctioned the ovary patterned sweater off my body for a nice 4K to benefit PP …Had to walk home in my skivvies and a men’s coat #worthit #onbrand #standwithPP.”

Dunham has also shared a photo of herself naked in a bathtub with colleague Jemima Kirke, who was pregnant at the time. The photo was meant to promote being pro-choice.

"Throwback to summer 2012 on the set of Girls, when Jemima was pregnant with her second child," Dunham wrote as the caption. "What's so beautiful to me about this photo right now is choice- I got to watch my friend since childhood CHOOSE to become a mother.

"She had the personal and emotional resources to support that choice. She didn't have her hand forced by lawmakers who would never understand her reality or respect her humanity.

"Sending love and strength to every woman around the world who is being denied that choice. We won't stop fighting for you."

The actress recently came under fire for comments she made during an episode of her "Women of the Hour" podcast. She said she had never gotten an abortion, but added that she wished she had so that she could better understand the stigma surrounding the issue.

Dunham later apologized for her comments, saying she was speaking “from a sort of ‘delusional girl’ persona I often inhabit, a girl who careens between wisdom and ignorance (that's what my TV show is too) and it didn't translate.”
