For over 200 years, those who live in the Pinelands of New Jersey have occasionally reported seeing a strange, winged creature known as the Jersey Devil. Last week, another sighting was made.
Dave Black, of Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, was driving home from his security job in Atlantic City when he saw what he believed to be a llama running through the trees near the road.
“I was just driving past the golf course in Galloway on Route 9 and had to shake my head a few times when I thought I saw a llama,” Black wrote in an email to NJ.com.
Black wrote that the creature then suddenly spread out its leathery wings and flew over a golf course. He tried taking a few pictures with his phone, but only one came out.
“Either my mind is playing tricks on me or I just saw the Jersey Devil,” Black wrote.
Black noted that he stared at his phone for an hour trying to make sense of the photo before finally deciding to share it with the press.
Black claimed that the photo isn’t fake or staged. The New Jersey resident wrote that he’s genuinely looking for an explanation, not trying to initiate a publicity stunt.
