A surveillance camera captured a 28-year-old woman violently shoving a 12-year-old girl to the ground (video below).
The incident occurred outside a convenience store in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on May 28, reports the Daily Mail.
The girl, identified as Presley Keeney, is seen standing outside the building holding a bag from the store. The video shows her snacking on something that's inside the bag as she waits for her father, who is still inside the store making a purchase.
Standing a few feet from Presley is a man and woman, who soon leave the scene. However, a few seconds later, the man re-enters the scene and approaches Presley, who is seen giving him something from her bag -- it was later revealed to be a piece of "Slim Jim" brand beef jerky.
At that point, the woman also re-enters the scene, shoves the man into the parking lot, and then pushes 80-pound Presley to the ground, hard.
Presley's father, who saw his daughter's hat fly into the air, is seen rushing outside to come to her rescue. The perpetrators having fled, he helps Presley up and comforts her with a hug.
According to Presley's mother, Chere Fuller, police came and took a report but failed to get the surveillance footage from the store. So Fuller took the following day off work and retrieved the footage herself, which she then handed over to the local news station WBRE.
After airing the video, the woman who assaulted Presley was identified as 28-year-old Marlenea Uravage. It was Uravage's own brother who provided the identification.
As Fuller explained: "He sent me a message and said, 'I know who that is.' He said, 'I am so sorry.' I was very grateful for that. It must have taken him a lot to say that was his sister."
After the suspect was identified, Police Chief Lendacky sent a message to WBRE. "I thank you for your reporting of the incident presented by Ms. Fuller that occurred with her daughter on Spring Street May 28, 2017," he said. "I must add that in face it was very helpful in that we have received information due to your story and have filed charged in this matter."
Fuller suspects the man who approached her daughter had sexual motives. "She thought the man was hungry. Because she’s 12, she has an innocent mind. He walked over and said, 'Could I get a piece of that?' And I’m not sure he was talking about her food," she stated.
As for Uravage, she presumably attacked both the man and Presley in a jealous rage. "Who would be jealous of a 12-year-old girl?" Fuller wondered.
Uravage remains at large, but authorities say they plan to charge her with harassment if they ever find her.
