An Irish student who set out to find her look-alike was surprised to find her living only an hour away.
Dublin student and television presenter, Niamh Geaney, 26, launched a social media campaign to find her doppelgänger recently. With the help of two other friends, she started a project they called Twin Strangers to see who among the three could discover their double within 28 days.
After putting the project on Facebook, they were overwhelmed with submissions from wannabe doppelgängers from the world over.
However, it was Geaney who discovered her match in Karen Branigan, 29, who lived just an hour down the road.

The two were able to meet in person and were shocked at how many similarities they shared.
"For the entire duration of our encounter I pretty much stared at her," Geaney told the Daily Mail. "I couldn't get over her face, and some of the expressions she would pull I would think to myself or say aloud, 'Oh my God, that's my face.'
"I can't remember the number of times I said, 'This is so freaky,'" she continued. "It was truly amazing."
However, Branigan appeared a little more surprised at the chance meeting.
"I would say Karen is the shyer of the two of us," Geaney said. "But then you have to remember this was an even more surreal experience to her than it was for me. I knew what search I was embarking on. I'm the weirdo that contacted Karen out of the blue and asked her to meet me in person."
According to the Daily Mail, both Geaney and Branigan have been talking "constantly" on Facebook since their meeting.
Though Geaney was able to discover her doppelgänger, her two comrades -- Harry, 21, and Terence, 22 -- are having a more difficult time.
"I think I have a two, maybe three at a push who resemble me," said Harry. "But they're definitely not as close a match as Karen to Niam."
"I'm trailing further behind," Terence said. "Must be a guy thing. They tend to be a bit too shy to participate. Not sure if being originally from sub-Saharan Africa has anything to do with it!"
Terence and Harry have time to catch up though, as the contest concludes on April 27.
