Internet Brings Couple Together After Woman Finds Love Note

An Irish woman never thought she would open her wallet and reunite a couple, but it happened.

Denise O’Reilly found a love note on a 20 euro bill in her wallet last week, and she knew she had to try and help the lovers if she could, reports Metro.

“Christy, it’s always been you!” the message read. “Come and find me — Megan x.”

Hopeless romantic O’Reilly had to know what had happened to the couple, so she posted a picture of the note on Facebook.

“Found this is (sic) my (wallet) this morning!!!” she wrote in the caption. “Ah Christy She (heart)s you!!!!! Go get ur girl!!!!! Come on people and share!!!”

The post went viral, and Facebook users shared it more than 16,000 times and tagged anybody they could think of who could be Christy or Megan.

Finally, Christy himself got in touch with O’Reilly to let her know the message had reached him.

“Hey, just quick update: I’ve been in touch with Megan and it’s all good,” he wrote to her on Facebook. “Thanks so much for posting.”

Unfortunately, the couple's story has not had a happy ending yet, and the situation is rather complicated. Christy explained everything to Today FM in an email.

“Megan was the name I used to call my ex girlfriend,” he wrote. “We went out for a year and a half. The name arose from when I misheard her name and thought she was Megan for our first week of dating. Then it stuck.”

Christy is a musician. While they were dating, he wrote "Megan" a song called, “It’s Always Been You.”

"We broke up, she met someone new. After I saw the 20 euro note on a FB post, I called her. She told me she had written it on a note she used to pay into one of my gigs about 6 months ago. I didn't know she was there. She told me she thought I'd get the cash directly but I obviously didn't. She took it that I didn't want to talk.

"So, now we're in touch again but the situation is quite different."

Now that the former couple has thousands of fans rooting for them, hopefully they will work it out.
