A lot of people search for the weirdest things while using Google, but have you ever wondered what each state is obsessed with?
Fixr.com, a cost-estimating website, created a bizarre new map using Google Autocomplete to find out what services people searched for the most in each state or state capital.
Fixr did this, for example, by typing “How much does * cost in Sacramento, California?” into the search engine.
Apparently, Californians have been doing their research on facelifts, breast augmentation and liposuction. A quick Google search shows that people in this state have also been looking into getting married at the courthouse and, ironically, divorce costs.
Some of the other states have pretty shocking results, such as search queries for vasectomy, a pound of weed and prostitution. Nevada is the only state in the country where some prostitution is legal, according to Voice of America.
And the award for most disturbing Google search goes to Bismarck, North Dakota, where the top-ranked query was the cost of “a minor,” referring to a person under 18.
