Dad's 'Haunted Swing' Recording Goes Viral (Video)

In a video that has gone viral, a father and his children who were planning a day at a playground were terrified to leave their car after a swingset showed some unusual behavior (video below).

Scotty Denton, the Rhode Island father who posted the video to Facebook, claimed the swing was haunted, as it was swinging wildly with no wind, according to The Huffington Post.

"We're at the playground, and the kids don't want to go anymore because look at this s---," said Denton, as his children say that no one is pushing the swing and that there is no wind. The swing appears to move as if being pushed by invisible forces, despite other swings on the same set staying still.

"There's no wind right now, either," says Denton in the video.

The video, which has been viewed more than 6 million times in the month since it was uploaded, has invited skepticism from commenters. Some commenters speculated the swing's chairlike shape was catching wind, and others commented the swing may be pulled by a string in the video.

"Funny how he claims that there is no wind but at the :50 mark when he pans over to the trees you can see the trees moving a lot from the wind," said one commenter, according to MommyPage.

Another theory said the swing might be faulty and swings constantly without being pushed.

After receiving the skeptical response, Denton returned to the park to set the record straight "for all the haters." He walks around the swing, showing it standing still. "It's perfectly still," says Denton in his second video. "Just making a video for all you haters that said it's always swinging. No strings tied to it."

"This video is for all the haters who said that the video was bulls---. Obviously, it's not," says Denton, in a tongue-in-cheek tone. Immediately after in the video, a person is seen riding behind him on a skateboard wearing a ghostly white sheet.
