George Michael's Boyfriend Takes Down Unreleased Song (Photo)

George Michael's boyfriend has been asked to remove a song he posted on the internet due to intellectual property rights.

Fadi Fawaz, 43, shared a song "This Kind of Love" by the late singer George Michael as a tribute, the Daily Mail reported. But shortly after sharing the music with fans, lawyers for Michael's estate asked Fawaz to take the song down.

The song was shared on YouTube and other websites. More than 100,000 people have heard the song, which is believed to have been produced with Elton John in the early 1990s.

Michael's lawyer claims the singer did not want the song released and that "unauthorized reproductions" are an "exploitation of the material."

It is unknown at this time if Michael's family is behind the legal action. Since removing the link to the song, Fawaz posted another message, presumably aimed at the lawyers.

"The song I posted was found online they are many versions of it, please do your research if u think you r professional in what u do," Fawaz wrote on Twitter. "'This Kind of Love' is from the unreleased album Trojan Souls, which was due to go on sale in 1993 but was never finished, reportedly due to another legal wrangle."

Several fans have been calling for the release of the late singer's unpublished work.

"The unfinished Trojan Souls album...what a gift that would be right now...such remarkable music, such a remarkable words," Emma Strickland wrote.

"This song must be edited," Danni Michael added. "There are a lot of George's fans that don't know it."

Michael is believed to have two other unreleased albums: "White Light" and an unnamed dance album.

"White Light" was scheduled to be released after Michael performed the title track during the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

The dance album was supposed to be a follow-up to Michael's 1990 "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" album. The project was reportedly scrapped after disputes with music label Sony.
