After allegedly suffering from domestic abuse, one Florida man decided to tape his experience with a GoPro (video below).
A Pinellas County, Florida, man -- identified only as Michael to protect his identity -- is currently in the middle of a divorce and custody battle with his estranged wife, 10 News reports. He and his wife, Corinne Novak, have 2-year-old twins.
In order to document the domestic abuse he has experienced, Michael wore GoPro on his belt using a parachute cord.
During a court hearing on Sep. 17, Michael, a soldier, showed a video he had filmed during the most recent encounter with Novak.
In the video, Michael reaches into the car to unbuckle one of his sons. Then, he jerks back and screams. In one shot, a hand that appears to be Novak's is seen forcibly grabbing Michael’s genitals.
“This is just one of many instances where I’ve had to use the camera to either prove her guilt or prove my innocence and that’s the only reason I am carrying it,” Michael told 10 News.
Michael added that he hopes the video, which was shown in a custody exchange on Sept. 17, will show people that men can also be victims of domestic abuse.
“We have court coming up so hopefully it goes to show a little bit of validity to what I’ve been doing and what I’ve been saying and disproving what she’s been saying,” Michael said.
