Users Say Ellen's Usain Bolt Tweet Is Racist (Photo)

A Twitter post from the account of daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was quickly and loudly denounced by many Twitter users for what they saw as implicit racism.

On Aug. 15, a picture (below) was posted on the account depicting an edited image of DeGeneres riding on the back of gold medal Jamaican Olympian runner Usain Bolt, according to CNN.

The caption on the tweet reads: "This is how I'm running errands from now on."

Needless to say, the image did not sit well with Twitter users.

One user wrote in response to DeGeneres' tweet: "so the first thing that pops in your head when looking at this pic is 'oh let me jump onto his back like he's a common mule?'"

" apology won't do. This is utterly f------ ridiculous. How dare you!?!?" one user said.

"This is so gross. Fire whoever did this," wrote another.

Others defended DeGeneres' post.

"What’s wrong with it? She’s saying he’s fast. Nothing more. Nothing less," wrote one user in defense of DeGeneres.

"If Usain was white, y'all wouldn't care. We all know Ellen isn't racist & didn't mean any harm by that. Stop it."
