Can You Find What's Wrong With This Picture? (Photo)

A simple picture of six young women sitting on a sofa is quickly going viral on Reddit, with many calling it an optical illusion.

The picture, first discovered by a Reddit user on Dec. 24, shows six friends sitting next to each other on a sofa, reports the Daily Mail. While it appears straightforward enough, something is missing, leading many completely baffled.

Although there are six women sitting on the couch, there are only five pairs of legs. The young woman in the middle of the couch appears as if she has no legs at all. The realization has caused an online firestorm, and hundreds of people have left comments with differing theories about to how this illusion is possible.

The original poster commented on the photo, prompting users to "find the middle girl’s legs."

Many users answered the call, offering possible explanations.

"The second girl’s legs are behind the first girl’s legs," one user wrote. "I think."

Another user disagreed, commenting "I actually think the first girl has get legs draped OVER the second girls legs."

A third user provided an in-depth explanation, with a visual reference, saying that the legs of the two women on the far left blend together. Labeling the girls from left to right 1, 2, 3, and 4, he starts by saying that the first girl's legs are crossed.

"Number 1 has her legs crossed, no tear in the knee. Number 2 has only one leg visible, the tear is in her knee," the user explained in the comment section. "Those legs are blending together. (Follow that tear down, there's a split where there's a sock on the right and not on the left. Number 2 has a tear in her knee and a visible white sock). Numbers 2 and 3 are leaning waaay over. It's easier to visualize if you picture #3 with her hand on the seat behind #4's back to hold herself up."

But there is no clear consensus on an explanation. The image garnered hundreds of comments and thousands of shares in the two days after it was posted.
