New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick wrote a letter of support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, CSN New England confirmed (video below).

At a campaign stop in Manchester, New Hampshire on Nov. 7, Trump read a letter aloud, claiming it was written by Belichick, the NFL coach who was won three Super Bowl championships with the team.

"Congratulations on a tremendous campaign,” Belichick wrote to Trump. “You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media, and have come out beautifully -- beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully tomorrow’s election results will give the opportunity to make America great again. Best wishes for great results tomorrow.”

Trump also told New Hampshire voters that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady voted for him.

“Great guy,” Trump said of Brady, WEEI reports. “Great friend of mine. Great, great champion. Unbelievable winner. He called today and he said, ‘Donald, I support you. You’re my friend and I voted for you.’ I want to tell you this guy is a champ and he is a winner and he is a great person. So I said, ‘Tom, you voted for me, you support me, am I allowed to say it tonight to this massive crowd in New Hampshire?’ He said, ‘If you want to say it, you can say it.'”

But in an interview with WEEI, Brady said he hadn't voted yet. And Brady's wife, supermodel Giselle Bundchen, said she and her husband weren't supporting Trump.

“Gisele I heard you and tom were backing Trump!” one of her fans asked on Instagram, according to The New York Times. “Is that true??”

“NO!” Bundchen wrote back.

But Brady has been a close friend of Trump for more than a decade, which might end up causing some tension in the Brady-Bundchen household on Election Day.

“Donald is a good friend of mine. I have known him for a long time. I support all my friends. That is what I have to say. He’s a good friend of mine. He’s always been so supportive of me,” Brady said in December 2015 when the Republican primary was still going strong, according to NBC Sports, adding, “I support all my friends in everything they do.”
