Bacon, Eggs, And Toast: Here's A Twist On A Traditional Breakfast (Video)

Here’s a different way to serve a traditional breakfast that’s fun and easy to make in the morning or at your next Sunday brunch.

In the video (below), posted to YouTube by Everyday Food magazine, editor Sarah Carey shows you how to make this simple and delicious breakfast hack.

You will need the following recipe ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 slices white or whole-wheat sandwich bread
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 6 large eggs
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper

After preheating the oven to 375 degrees, lightly coat six standard muffin cups with butter. Slightly flatten bread slices with a rolling pin, and use a 4 1/4-inch cookie cutter to cut eight rounds in half. Then, press two halves to the edge of each muffin cup, overlapping slightly. You can use extra bread to cover any gaps and brush the bread with butter.

Cook bacon in a large skillet on medium heat for about 4 minutes or until crisp. Place one slice of bacon in each bread cup and crack an egg on top of each, seasoning with salt and pepper. it will continue to cook in the oven, baking for about 20 to 25 minutes. Run a knife around the cups to loosen the toasts before serving.

Businesswoman and TV personality Martha Stewart notes that if you’re baking 6 toasts in a 12-cup pan, leave an empty space in between. Nonstick pans are not necessary for this recipe.
