Reality TV star Kim Kardashian was signing her new book of selfies, "Selfish," at a Barnes & Noble store in New York City on Tuesday when she was heckled by several animal rights protesters.
One animal activist told Kardashian, "I just want to say that you're the most disgusting human being on this planet! Shame on you for supporting the fur industry!" noted USA Today (video below).
The activist who filmed the exchange told Kardashian that she needed to stop wearing fur and added that she was a "terrible person."
Another activist who took over the filming asked Kardashian if she could sign his book "to all the animals that have been tortured and killed for you to wear fur coat."
Kardashian didn't react much to the activists who were escorted out of the book store by security guards.
One protester yelled, "50 dead animals for one fur coat" while being escorted out.
Rob Banks, an activist, told the Business Insider, "You can't pass up an opportunity to see her. We waited until we got up to her, confronted her, told her she should be ashamed of herself. We were escorted out, but we had a pretty big effect."
Activist Jaime Lee added, "She didn't really have much to say. She can't say anything to defend herself. She has access to the information."
