This 15-Year-Old Cheerleader Can Squat More Than Her School's Football Team (Video)

A 15-year-old Arizona cheerleader has become an Internet star after footage of her squatting 300 pounds at a gym went viral.

Patricia Ballesteros, a sophomore at Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, Arizona, says that despite her slender frame, she is far from an ordinary girl.

In the video below, she can be seen squatting a barbel carrying 300 pounds, more than the weight of a giant panda, according to the Daily Mail.

Adults can lift more, but Ballesteros claims she is stronger than nearly 75 percent of her school’s football team. As a member of the cheer squad, she spends extra time lifting weights to keep her arms and legs strong, which helps with her routines.

The video of her squatting has since gone viral, and it’s even been shared by sports networks such as ESPN.

Even with all the attention, Ballesteros says she has no plans to stop strengthening anytime soon.

Ballesteros is not the only young woman making headlines for lifting huge weights, according to The Daily Dot. Crossfit athlete Darian Sperry, 20, who stands at 5-foot-1 and weighs less than 130 pounds, left everyone shocked after a GIF of her lifting 180 pounds made the Internet rounds.
