Video: Restaurant Owner Ed McGovern Gives Lesbian Customers a Letter Denouncing Homosexuality

Ed McGovern, who owns the Stingray Cafe in New Bern, North Carolina, recently wrote a letter to a lesbian couple Ariel and Shawnee McPhail, informing them of their "sin" (video below), reports NewsChannel 12.

After Ariel and Shawnee dined at the Stingray Cafe on December 4, 2012, they were given a letter (with grammatical mistakes) by McGovern which read:

God said in the last days that man and woman would be lover of self, more the lover of God.

That man and woman would have unnatural for one another. Then, the coming of the Son of Man, who is Jesus. So please, look at your life. See how it hurt[s] everyone around you. And ask the Lord to open your eyes before it too late.

    The Love of Christ

P.S. my daughter also was gay. It destroy her life and my grandson.

McGovern told NewsChannel 12 that he wrote the letter, out of love, because he did not approve of the McPhails’ kissing, but they claim they never kiss in public.

McPhail said: "First of all, we didn't kiss. We don't kiss in public. We were holding hands. Secondly, if I did kiss my wife in public, what married couple would you go to and say, 'how dare you. You cannot hold hands and you cannot kiss in public therefore you deserve my judgement.'"

McPhai added: "If we're experiencing it, then other people are too and that's not fair."

McGovern said he did something similar to another lesbian couple in the past.
