Video: Liberty Counsel Repeats Myth of Ten Year Old not Being Allowed to Pray Before Eating Lunch in School

On their 'Faith and Freedom' radio program, today, the Liberty Counsel's Matt Barber and Shawn Akers repeated a false story about a ten year old [Raymond Raines] being disciplined in school for praying before he ate lunch (video below).

This myth has been around since 1994 when Newt Gingrich and various religious leaders made the tale the centerpiece of a campaign to pass a constitutional amendment protecting the right to expressions of faith.

However, Raines was not reprimanded for praying. In fact, school officials said that Raines was disciplined for fighting in the cafeteria, which the Liberty Counsel hosts did not mention, reports RightWingWatch.org.
