A holiday stamp ad for the U.S. Postal Service includes stamps that clearly celebrate Kwanzaa and Hannukah, but not Christmas.
One stamp features colorful gingerbread houses with no message whatsoever.
The ad prompted Twitter user @RennaW to say, “Don’t forget those three American holidays: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and…..gingerbread house.”
“USPS advertising Kwanzaa, Hanukkah & Gingerbread house stamps,” tweeted Rob Hayes. “Refuse to #advertise stamps that state 'Christmas.' Another degradation.”
“Shhhhhhh! We can't say the "C" word,” wrote Chris Barnhart.
“Oh yeah, because Christians celebrate the Holy Day of Gingerbread House, seriously?" wrote @BossyMother. "This is awful.”
“Boycott USPS for Xmas!” tweeted Elena Antonelli.
USPS finally weighed in, explaining that they do offer “the Holy Family, Virgin & Child, Santa & Poinsettia stamps,” but these don’t appear in the ad.
