Stockton High School Teacher Accused of Giving Out 'Bible Cookies' (Video)

An unnamed high school student accused a teacher at New Vision High School in Stockton, California., of handing out 'Bible cookies' and encouraging students to attend an after-school Bible club.

John Alameda, the teacher accused of "unlawful proselytization," has not given a comment. The Manteca Unified School District, however, said in a statement that school officials are investigating the complaint.

John McGinnis, a legal fellow for a First Amendment group called Americans United for the Seperation Between Church and State, said Alemeda used his position to promote an after-school Bible club he sponsers, offered extra credit for copying Bible verses and hands out 'Bible cookies' as a reward for finishing assignments.
