Former Republican vice presidential nominee and half-term Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin was asked by CBS’ Sunday Morning about daughter Bristol's second pregnancy out of wedlock during an interview that aired on Nov. 15 (video below).
“Bristol is pregnant again,” reporter Tracy Smith asked Palin: “That can’t be how you saw this playing out, unmarried and pregnant again,” reports RawStory.com.
“Heck, no!” Palin replied. “Heck, no! Because being a single mom is, oh, my goodness, my heart goes out to the single parents. But my enormous admiration for what it is that they’re able to accomplish doing double duty. And I watch Bristol do double duty all the time with her little boy, Tripp.”
“I can’t wait for about 45 more days and I’m going to have a little baby granddaughter,” Palin added. “And I’m happy about it.”
However, Palin cut funding for single moms when she was governor, noted The Washington Post in 2008. Palin used her line-item veto to cut $5 million down to $3.9 million for Covenant House, a myriad of different programs for young people, which included Passage House, a transitional facility for teen moms.
“Of course, there are those who say, ‘Come on, this goes against everything you stand for,'” Smith reminded the outspoken conservative Christian.
“Well, the cool thing about putting your faith in God, is He certainly is a God of second chances and third and fourth and fifth chances,” Palin replied. "I screw up all the time."
However, according to the Bible that Palin purportedly follows as a Christian, the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 6:15: "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!"
