The father of Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, gave a speech to a Second Amendment advocacy group in Oklahoma arguing that atheism and secular humanism lead to sexual abuse and perversion.
“Well, if there is nothing, if there is no God, then we are ruled by our instincts,” said Texas Pastor Rafael Cruz. “There is no moral absolute, which means we operate by situational ethics, which unfortunately is something being taught in every high school in America.”
“Situation ethics basically says that right and wrong depend on the circumstances,” Cruz continued. “In other words, it’s a moral relativism, where you make your rules as you go on.”
“When it is convenient, you change the rules,” he added. “Do we know any politicians that have done that?”
“Hitler,” responded Larry Pratt of the organization Gun Owners of America.
“Oh, we don’t have to go that far, Larry,” said Cruz. “Just go to Washington. Just go to the White House.”
“Of course, this leads us, when there are no moral absolutes,” Cruz added, “leads us to sexual immorality, leads us to sexual abuse, leads us to perversion and, of course, no hope. No hope.”
