As gay marriage continues to win court victories in state after state, one pastor is calling for the U.S. to outlaw homosexuality and punish violators with "ten years in prison at hard labor."
The U.S. Supreme Court decriminalized homosexuality in the case of Lawrence v. Texas back in 2003, which overturned the sodomy ban in Texas (and every other state).
However, Pastor Michael V. Williams stated in a video (below) that there should be an amendment to the U.S. Constitution banning sodomy, noted RawStory.com (video below).
"Homosexuality used to be a felony in every state, referred to as sodomy, it has now been decriminalized, and homosexuality is allowed to be openly expressed in public,” said Pastor Williams. “While Christians are becoming increasingly tolerant of homosexuals, homosexuals are becoming increasingly intolerant of us.”
“It’s time for Christians to resume obeying God and his word, and to re-criminalize homosexuality, outlaw it again,” added Pastor Williams. “The only way to do this and keep it beyond the reach of activist judges and unaccountable bureaucrats is to create a constitutional amendment.”
Pastor Williams told his viewers to contact politicians until they agree to outlaw homosexuality.
“Make such a pest of yourself that they’re willing to do anything just to shut you up,” stated Pastor Williams. “Remember, only vote for those who promise to adopt this amendment. We’re in a fight for survival and only one side can win. Let’s make sure it’s our side.”
According to Pastor Williams' website PreachingPolitics.com, the amendment would state:
1. The United States of America is a Christian nation with Judeo-Christian ethics, morals, principles and values.
2. The practice of homosexuality in the United States of America and in all its territories and possessions, and in all its States, Counties and Cities shall be a felony punishable by ten years in prison at hard labor.
3. This Amendment shall take effect on the first Sunday after ratification.
