Liberal MSNBC host Ed Schultz announced Sunday that Christians who oppose Obamacare are “phony” and that “children of God will die” if it is repealed.
Schultz called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act “the most moral thing this country has ever done,” according to TheBlaze.
Schultz was asked during a segment if the “Christian conservative campaign against Obamacare is dangerous for America.”
“This is good for America and I won’t let them lie,” Schultz said. “They’re phony Christians. Phony Christians when they say that they are Christian, but then they want to take away from their next door neighbor. They don’t want to be their brother’s keeper.”
“A growing number of right wing Christians are coming out day after day as a Christian,” he added. “I think I have the right to expose their hypocrisy and call them out for all the things they are saying wrong and how misguided they are.”
He said it is a fact that innocent people will die if Obamacare is defunded.
“It is very simple,” he said. “If Obamacare is repealed, Americans will die. Children of God will die,” he said.
Schultz spoke with liberal commentator John Fugelsang and Ken Klukowski, director of the Center for Religious Liberty at the Family Research Council.
“For me as a Christian, from a public policy standpoint,” Klukowski said. “I want as many people to have good quality healthcare as possible, which is why I oppose Obamacare.”
Schultz asked Fugelsang if Klukowski was being hypocritical to which he responded: “I mean no disrespect to Ken when I say this is why today if Jesus came back it would be difficult to hear his message of love and tolerance over the screams of conservative Christians calling him a socialist.”
“I think you conservatives who purport to be Christians are on shaky moral ground when you want to take something away from someone who is on the verge of death,” Schultz said.
