Melania Trump Recites 'The Lord's Prayer,' Twitter Reacts (Video)

First Lady Melania Trump is catching some flak on Twitter after reciting the "Lord's Prayer" during President Donald Trump's victory rally in Florida (video below).

Melania kicked off her husband's rally at the Orlando-Melbourne Airport on Feb. 18 by reciting the "Lord's Prayer," Fox News reported. While the crowd at the rally cheered for Melania, several social media users took to Twitter to voice their disapproval.

“Melania starts the dictatorship rally with the Lord's Prayer? NOT EVERY AMERICAN IS CHRISTIAN!!!! Country over party,” one user tweeted.

"Melania prays (reads) the Our Father. Makes Jesus turn in his grave. Oh wait…” tweeted another.

“At least this time Melania [plagiarized] the Lord's Prayer from the Bible instead of Michelle Obama. #TrumpRally,” wrote another user.

Others pointed out that Melania had to read the prayer from a sheet, and did not know it by heart.

“With an hour's practice I could probably say the Lord's Prayer better in Slovene than Melania Trump does it in English,” wrote one Twitter user.

“God Bless her, but listening to Melania do 'The Lord's Prayer' sounds like someone getting cursed to become a 'Dracula,'" wrote another.

Others opted for far more personal attacks.

“….plus Melania read the 'our father' like a whore in confession after a night of escorting,” tweeted one social media user.

"The way Melania choked through that Our Father tells me she has not spoken aloud for weeks," wrote another.

“Trump is still there, so Melania's prayer didn't work,” tweeted another.

Some Twitter users however, remained hopeful and optimistic.

"So much anger and hate in our nation," tweeted one. "I'm glad she said a prayer this nation needs some healing."
