Kim Davis' Lawyer Compares Her To a Jew In Nazi Germany (Video)

Mat Staver of the Christian-based Liberty Counsel, recently compared his client Kim Davis, to a Jewish person living in Nazi Germany (video below).

Davis is the Rowan County, Kentucky, clerk, who has refused to issue any marriage licenses because of her self-identified Christian objections to gay marriage.

David was held in contempt and jailed today by a federal judge in Ashland, Kentucky, not because of her Christian beliefs, but because she chose not to follow the law and several court rulings regarding same-sex marriage licenses.

However, Staver told “Crosstalk” radio show host Jim Schneider on Wednesday that Davis was being persecuted because she is a Christian, notes

In the interview, Schneider asked Staver why Davis simply doesn't resign. Staver noted the many years that Davis has been employed by the state, how the U.S. Supreme Court (lawfully) changed the law two months ago on gay marriage and then he added:

Should she just simply walk away from that? Well, what's going to happen if she does? It's not just a clerk, it's every other position. Does that mean that if you’re Christian, don’t apply here.

If you’re a Jew, you gotta get, what happened in Nazi Germany, what happened there first, they removed the Jews from government public employment, then they stopped patronizing them in their private businesses, and then they continued to stigmatize them, then they were the "problems," then they killed them.

I mean, the fact of the matter is, she has a right to this employment and you don’t lose your constitutional liberties just because you are employed by the government.

Shannon Ragland, of the Kentucky Trial Court Review, wrote on Facebook today that she interviewed Cecil Watkins, the Rowan County Attorney, and noted:

The takeaways from the Watkins interview are clear. Davis is acting alone in her zealous mission. Her conduct has terrorized not just her staff but everyone that works in the courthouse. And all for a foolish mission aided by out of state charlatan lawyers [Liberty Counsel] trying to raise money for their 'religious liberty' mission.
