Basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar criticized Donald Trump for his controversial remarks and proposals regarding Muslims.
During an interview on CNN's GPS, Jabbar called Trump's proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. "illegal and immoral."
"I thought what he had to say was outrageous. It certainly contradicts our Constitution, something that the president of the United States is obliged to uphold and defend," he said.
"And religious discrimination is not part of what America is supposed to be about. Encouraging religious discrimination will definitely not make America great."
In September, Jabbar published an essay that criticized Trump and highlighted the difference between the GOP frontrunner and Democrat Bernie Sanders. Trump responded with a short note.
"Now I know why the press always treated you so badly — they couldn’t stand you," Trump said.
"The fact is that you don’t have a clue about life and what has to be done to make America great again!"
