This Is How 2 Texas Siblings Used The Bible To Fight Off A Bully

Two Texas siblings who were being bullied by another kid on a bus had a unique way of dealing with the situation: they handed him a Bible.

Phoenix, 8, and Kingston Walwyn, 7, began taking the bus home from Turner Elementary School, in Pasadena, Texas, three months ago when another child started calling them names.

"It made me feel like I wanted to yell at him," Phoenix told KHOU.

"I wanted to say (something) back to him," Kingston Walwyn added.

They told their mother, Kyla, who went to her children’s school to speak with administrators. According to a district spokesperson, the principal met with the boy involved and changed assigned seats on the bus.

However, the bullying continued. That’s when the Walwyns came up with an idea.

"I sat back and was like, I don't want to have to take my shirt off and meet (the bully) at the bus stop, you know what I mean," Vaughaliagan Walwyn, a Christian rapper and pastor of CT Legacy Church in Pasadena, Texas, told the station. "So, I prayed about it and God said, you know what, let's get this kid a Bible. Tell him Jesus loves him and invite him to church and see what happens.”

"We gave it to (the bully) and two minutes later when it was almost his stop to get off, he just said thank you and (I'm) sorry for all the bad stuff (I) did to you," Phoenix said.

Since giving the bully a Bible, the kids say that the name-calling has stopped.

“I don't know, maybe (the bully) started to read the Bible at his house and found the scripture about it," Phoenix said.

Their father was surprised by the bully’s reaction.

"I was like, really," Vaughaligan said. "So, that kind of caught me off guard that it worked that fast or the kid was convicted.”

The story has gotten positive feedback on social media. Vaughaligan posted the following on Facebook:

The kid ended up apologizing to my kids for how he had been treating them. Boy it’s something about operating in the love of Christ that gets the job done. #WisdomOverEverything #WordsOfWisdom
