Pat Robertson claimed on the "700 Club" today that gay people want to force Christians to have sex with angels, sex in public and close their businesses.
Robertson was upset about a Colorado baker, Jack Phillips, who was found guilty by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission of violating the state's anti-discrimination laws when he refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple in 2012.
According to the New York Daily News, the Christian baker was ordered by the commission to make wedding cakes for opposite sex and same-sex couples. In response, Phillips stopped making cakes.
Robertson completely re-worded and misstated the ruling by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, noted RightWingWatch.org (video below).
"What our civil rights commissions and others are saying is, ‘We want to endanger our society and set it up for the judgment of God and if you Christians don’t like it then get out,'” stated Robertson.
Robertson went on to fabricate statements by the gay community.
“What the gays are saying is, ‘We’re going to drive you out of town, either you conform to us or you must leave,’" claimed Robertson.
"That’s the message that’s being put out, it’s the same message that there was in Sodom and Gomorrah, 'You’re either going to have sex with angels or have open sex with anybody or else you leave, or you go out of business.' That’s America, you don’t want that, do you?” added Robertson.
