Free Tickets To Cubs Game Turned Gay Man Straight, Claims Christian Activist

Jason and David Benham, whose HGTV show was canceled before it aired because of their anti-gay comments, appeared at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention in Nashville, Tennessee, this week.

The HGTV incident turned the Benham brothers into Christian celebrities, but they have also garnered criticism. However, David claimed to have won over one their harshest gay critics, noted TheBlaze.

"We had so many people from the gay community reaching out to us and one man in particular from the city of Chicago reached out, and he said things to me that made me lose my appetite," David told the NRB. "But I simply responded in love."

"After a little conversation back and forth, I found out he loved baseball … and I got him tickets to a Cubs game," added David. "He shot me a Facebook post and said, 'I was not expecting that, and I’ve been thinking a lot about this. I’ve chosen to walk away from my lifestyle.'"

The Benham brothers also appeared on the Family Research Council’s "Washington Watch" radio broadcast from the NRB and talked about fighting against a proposed non-discrimination ordinance in Charlotte, North Carolina, that would protect LGBT people, reports

"We are about to fight in Charlotte on Monday this transgender bathroom ordinance,” said David. "It’s so depraved and just absolutely craziness that I look back and I see that pattern."

David then promoted a rally that he and his brother would be attending.

"That’s just simply the fourth point of the radical gay agenda’s blueprint to change America," added David. "The fourth point is, 'Do not request direct support for our lifestyle, but rather assume nondiscrimination as our support.' This is all, this is a disguise. And it’s not because of LGBT people, it’s because of this radical agenda."

The brothers released a video (below) in January recalling the HGTV incident and explaining how they are in a spiritual battle.
