Fox News Radio Host Predicts Pastors Will Be Forced To Perform Gay Weddings (Video)

Fox News Radio host Todd Starnes appeared on the Family Research Council's (FRC) "Washington Watch" radio program on Thursday and predicted that pastors were going to be forced to perform gay weddings in the future (video below).

Starnes and Tony Perkins, head of the FRC, were lamenting the Colorado Court of Appeals' ruling this week that upheld a lower court's ruling that a Christian baker had illegally discriminated against a gay couple by refusing to make them a wedding cake in 2012, notes

Starnes claimed that he read the 67-page ruling and added:

It's not much of a legal stretch to imagine the day when they will tell pastors the same thing: "You will participate in these gay weddings." So it's a troubling thing when you look at this document and you realize that Christian business owners, at least in Colorado, really don't have as much freedom as they thought they did.

According to Reuters, the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled that the Colorado Anti Discrimination Act (CADA) does not allow businesses to refuse customers based on their sexual orientation.

A church is not a business, so it's not clear how Starnes came to the conclusion that pastors will be forced to participate in a gay wedding from this cake case.

The court also ruled that the Christian baker could continue to express his religious and anti-gay marriage views, but cannot be "picking and choosing customers based on their sexual orientation."
