Citizen Link is the political arm of the Christian ministry Focus on the Family.
On a recent broadcast of Citizen Link's "Stoplight," (video below) host Stuart Shepard played a video by Christian financial whiz Dave Ramsey who insisted that insurance rates, under Obamacare, had to go up because sick people would be paying the same premiums as healthy people under Obamacare.
Like Ramsey, Shepard insisted that "the rates that you pay for health insurance are directly connected to what the company pays out, so it has to cost more."
In reality, the connection is not direct. The insurance companies have actually raised their rates while providing less coverage, not more.
In 2011, Unitedhealth Group and Cigna actually charged higher premiums for less care, noted The New York Times.
A study by the Commonwealth Fund in 2011 found that America paid more then any other industrialized nation for health care, but actually got less.
Shepard added that people who are insured through their employer may not get raises or could lose their jobs, all because of Obamacare.
Also, because of Obamacare, Shepard says he worries about families not being able to send their kids to college or being able to pay rent, but fails to mention that the biggest cause of bankruptcy in the U.S. is medical bills, reported CNBC earlier this year.
Towards the end of his video, Shepard compared Obamacare supporters to a spoiled child who says "I want candy" in a grocery store.
Ironically, Shepard himself pleads for financial donations before each Citizen Link report, as does Focus on the Family head Jim Daly during his broadcasts.
