Evangelist and faith healer Kenneth Copeland recently warned Christians that if they don't vote in the presidential election they will be guilty of murder (video below).
According to Right Wing Watch, Copeland (a former Ted Cruz supporter) was hosting a TV program to urge conservative Christians to vote:
You're going to be held seriously, seriously to account by God if you don't vote. And you’re gonna find that out before this broadcast is over. You're going to be guilty of murder. You’re going to be guilty of an abomination of God. You’re going to be guilty for every baby that’s aborted from this election forward.
Later in the program, Copeland assured his viewing audience that even if Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is elected for the next "eight" years and makes a mess out of the nation, everything would be alright because God has struck down leaders in the Bible.
Copeland then said that the U.S. is God's nation:
Listen, this this is God’s nation and nobody is gonna to take it away from Him! Now I wanna get that clear, right now in the name of Jesus! No man, no woman, no Democrat, no Republican, no socialist, no communist can take this nation away from God! I don’t know what it is about that you can’t understand, but I’m telling you right now God Almighty is head of this nation, not people! Jesus of Nazareth is Lord over the United States!
Evangelist Franklin Graham made a similar plea on his Facebook page on Oct. 6 when he told his followers that he had no faith in any political parties, but also urged them to vote for a political party candidate:
I don't put any hope in the political parties—God is the only hope for America. I am encouraging Christians across this country to live out their faith in all aspects of their lives. I'm asking everyone to pray fervently for the future of this country and to vote on November 8. The Christian voice has been too silent too long.
