The Universal Life Church World Headquarters, Inc. ordains men or women throughout the world. They do so based on one's conviction to serve God as a disciple of Christ, to administer the sacraments, to spread the Good News and to help others. This affords their ministers the right to serve as wedding officiants. The Universal Life Church World Headquarters accepts all of our brothers and sisters.
The Universal Life Church World Headquarters does not base ordination on one's sexual preference, those looking to be ordained are never asked what their sexual preference is. The Universal Life Church World Headquarters loves all regardless whether they are homosexual or heterosexual.
Recently Conan O'Brien, a late night talk show host and comedian on TBS, got ordained by the Universal Life Church Monastery Storehouse, Inc of Seattle, WA., a business that began in September, 2006 and whose legality is very much in question, based on a Court ordered injunction against The Monastery from April of 1985 forever barring The Monastery or its owner, George Freeman from the Worship or Entertainment Business (CLICK FOR DETAILS).
Is it the legality of Conan O'Brien's Ordination that should be questioned, or is it more the fact this late night comedian used as part of his comedy act not only Ordination as a Minister (A Sacrament), but he also used the LGBT community in a last ditch effort to once again save his job as a late night comedy host?
Replacing the need for an individual with talent, by making a joke out of both a Sacrament and the LGBT Community is not what TBS needs to do. TBS needs to exercise better judgment, it is time again for yet another network to fire Conan O'Brien.
