"Family Talk" radio host and Focus on the Family founder James Dobson recently warned that there could be another civil war if the U.S. Supreme Court decides to rule in favor of gay marriage.
Dobson made the comment during a conference call with conservative Christian activists Janet Porter, Mat Staver, Rick Scarborough and Peter LaBarbera, noted RightWingWatch.org (audio below).
At the beginning of the segment, Porter urged Dobson to support her online "restraining order" against the U.S. Supreme Court.
According RestrainTheJudges.com, this "restraining order" will call "upon Congress to use the authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to restrain federal judges and the Supreme Court from undermining marriage any further!"
In response to Porter's plea for this "pushback," Dobson said he "will help anyway" he can, but added:
I just think we need to be realistic about what we're up against here, which is to accomplish something that I don't think, Mat you can verify, but has almost never been done, especially when you have a politically correct issue that's reached the level of intensity that this one has. I mean, talk about civil war, we could have another one over this. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try, it just means this is not as simple as it might appear.
