A group of Christian anarchists recently claimed to have stolen $2,000 worth of calendars from a kiosk in a Buford, Ga. shopping mall.
The calendars featured Sports Illustrated models and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (video below).
The thieves reportedly bragged about their crime on JesusRadicals.com, a website that claims to explore "the theologically practical politics of a Jesus-centered life and how that way of life benefits from critically engaging anarchist political stances."
“Every day on the way to work, we had to walk by this kiosk," one of the thieves wrote on Dec. 4. "Each passing encounter forced a specific sexuality and beauty standard upon us, and we couldn’t take it anymore."
"If your environment disturbs you, disturb it," added the thief. "Or even better, disturb it with your friends."
The thief then describes how one of anarchists distracted the solo employee at the kiosk, while a second anarchist put 200+ calendars into a trash bag and a third anarchist watched for police and witnesses.
The second anarchist took the trash bag, loaded with stolen calendars, outside via an employee entrance and later met up with his criminal friends.
The calendars were replaced by the anarchist's signs, which included "F--- the Patriarchy" and "Sorry, misogyny is out of stock.”
Ironically, it was a woman, Jessica Roy, the owner of the kiosk, who was robbed by the anarchists who claim to oppose misogyny.
“[The calendars] are on consignment, but I’m responsible for them,” Roy told WSB. “Not only do I sign a security deposit, which now I’ll lose, I’m also responsible for any merchandise that’s missing.”
“We are not Sports Illustrated," added Roy. "We are a small business that's just trying to make a living.”
