A 19-second video (below) of President Donald Trump driving his car and listening to a Taylor Swift song with his family is going viral after it resurfaced on May 9.
In December 2014, now-First Lady Melania Trump sat in the back seat of her husband's car, filming her son, Barron, who was 8 at the time, sitting in the passenger's seat, while Taylor Swift's single, "Blank Space," from her "1989" album plays on the radio. The family sits without speaking, as the video shows only the back of Barron's head and his father's iconic hair.
"Fun night with my two boys DJT & BWT," Mrs. Trump captioned the video that she uploaded to her Facebook page at the time.
The viral Facebook clip more than 283,000 views, while more than 3,700 people have reacted to it and more than 900 people have shared it as of the afternoon of May 9.
Since it resurfaced, it has received a myriad of responses.
"This is proof that the Donald is like all of us," commented one YouTube user. "Listening to Taylor Swift while driving in a highway, with golden items."
Another said that they were surprised that "someone like Donald Trump" would drive his car, rather than having a personal driver.
"Family goals," said another. "Who wouldn't wanna roll with Barron and Mr. and Mrs. Trump in a Rolls listening to Taylor Swift. Why haven't they adopted me yet. "
Others were thrilled that he is now president, while some called the car ride "awkward."
"No one speaks, no one laughs, no one shares even a glance?" one person wrote on Mrs. Trump's Facebook page. "This looks like the most tense, sad, isolated family outing I've ever seen shared ... this is much more like the drive home after a fight at the restaurant."
Some wondered if the first family still has nights like this together.
"This shows Trump has something in common with the American people...they both yearn for a time when President Trump was just Donald Trump," another person wrote. "I can't imagine the hell being president must be compared to a life like this. "
The president has said that there is "no question" that his new job has created "a big burden on the family," particularly for his 11-year-old, who is preparing to move to the White House with Melania, according to The Washington Times.
"[Barron will] be taken away from his school and be put into a brand-new school" in the fall, the president said during an Oval Office session. "He likes playing on his soccer team in New York, they're all of his friends, and you know he'll be taken away from that team."
He did not say how much one-on-one time he gets to spend with Barron.
"I hope they still get to do these things together," someone commented on the YouTube video. "There's nothing like going for a 'spin in the car' with Dad and music too!"
