North Carolina state Senate candidate Deb Butler's new ad slams Republican Thom Goolsby for supporting anti-abortion legislation, which requires women to have an invasive transvaginal ultrasound before having an abortion (video below).

The GOP-dominated North Carolina legislature passed the controversial law last year by overriding a veto by Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue. The law is currently on hold due to a lawsuit by the ACLU, reports RawStory.com.

In the ad, Butler holds a transvaginal ultrasound probe and says: "He wouldn’t dare show you this, but this is Thom Goolsby’s contribution to women’s health. A medically unnecessary and invasive procedure that is now required by state law. He promised us his first priority would be jobs, but instead he’s following us into the doctor’s office.”
