Video: Mitt Romney's "Binders Full of Women" Debate Statement Becomes Internet Joke

Last night during the presidential debate, Republican candidate Mitt Romney responded to a question about job disparity between men and women (video below).

Romney said that, when he was governor of Massachusetts, he had his staff bring him "binders full of women" for consideration in his cabinet, reports

Romney said: “So we took a concerted effort to go out and find women that had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet. I went to a number of womens’ groups and said, ‘Can you help us find folks?’ And they brought us binders full of women.”

Romney's "binders full of women" remark became a trending topic on Twitter and got its own Tumblr blogs within minutes of his statement.

Some of the comments on Twitter and pictures were reported by the Daily Mail.

'I'll know I've entered the 1% when I get my first #bindersfullofwomen,' tweeted Chris Savage.

I'll never forget the day I found my dad's stash of #bindersfullofwomen #debate,' Ben Brown wrote.

Wrote David Weller: 'I'd love to see the meeting minutes from that roundtable. #bindersfullofwomen'
