During an interview last week, Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney said that he supported Georgia’s controversial plan to mandate drug testing for all welfare recipients and other poor people who get government assistance (video below).
However, Romney made no mention of drug testing wealthy people who get government money, such as corporations, banks or even companies such as (his) Bain Capital, which received corporate welfare. No did he mention drug testing foreign countries' leaders, who get taxpayer aid from the U.S.
Romney: "Well my own view is, it’s a great idea. People who are receiving welfare benefits, government benefits, we should make sure they’re not using those benefits to pay for drugs. I think it’s an excellent idea."
