Video: Indiana State Rep. Bob Morris Attacks Girl Scouts Over Abortion, Gays

Indiana state rep. Rep. Bob Morris (R) recently refused to sign a resolution honoring the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts, which all of his fellow lawmakers approved last week (video below).

In a letter obtained by The Journal-Gazette of Fort Wayne, Rep. Morris told his colleagues that “he did some research on the Internet and found allegations that the Girl Scouts are a tactical arm of Planned Parenthood, allow transgender females to join and encourage sex.”

Morris wrote: “After talking to some well-informed constituents, I did a small amount of web-based research, and what I found is disturbing. Abundant evidence proves that the agenda of Planned Parenthood includes sexualizing young girls through the Girl Scouts, which is quickly becoming a tactical arm of Planned Parenthood.”

“Many parents are abandoning the Girl Scouts because they promote homosexual lifestyles. In fact, the Girl Scouts education seminar girls are directed to study the example of role models. Of the fifty role models listed, only three have a briefly-mentioned religious background—all the rest are feminists, lesbians, or Communists."

"Boys who decide to claim a ‘transgender’ or cross-dressing life-style are permitted to become a member of a Girl Scout troop, performing crafts with the girls and participate in overnight and camping activities—just like any real girl.”

Rep. Morris also said the fact that first lady Michelle Obama is honorary president “should give each of us reason to pause before our individual and collective endorsement of the organization."

In response, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana CEO Cathy Ritchie told WRTV: “I’d like to just debunk that. Girl Scouts believe that all matters of faith and anything that’s a sensitive issue at all belongs at home. It belongs to the family. It belongs to the family’s community, place of worship. That’s not what we’re about in Girl Scouts.”
