HLN’s Kyra Phillips reported, on Thursday, that former CIA Director David Petraeus told her that he never passed classified information to Paula Broadwell and that his resignation had nothing to do with the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya (video below), reports Mediaite.com.
Phillips said: "In our first conversation, Petraeus had told me he had engaged in something dishonorable. He sought to do the honorable thing in response, and that was to come forward."
“He was very clear that he screwed up terribly, that it was all his fault and even felt fortunate to have a wife who is far better than he deserves.”
“He insisted to me that he has never passed classified information to Paula Broadwell. He said this has nothing to do with Benghazi, and he wants to testify. He will testify.”
Petraeus is scheduled to testify, this week, before Congressional closed-door meetings about the attack on the U.S. embassy in Libya.
