Appearing on Fox News near the end of the 2012 Republican National Convention last night, conservative author Ann Coulter mocked the high unemployment rate of American youth (video below), reports MediaMatters.org.
Coulter said: “It’s the one very high, extraordinary unemployment rate that makes me laugh and laugh and laugh, ’cause they all voted for Obama."
“I think we ought to raise the voting age. You can’t drink until you’re 21. We don’t have a draft anymore. Why are we letting infants vote? Their brains aren’t fully formed. They can’t even be responsible for their own health insurance until they’re 25.”
However, RawStory.com reports that the U.S. Department of Labor said that 2.1 million more young people found work between April and July of this year, a significant increase in jobs numbers from the same period in 2011.
